The value of bees to humans is enormous, and their role in the health of our natural world is incalculably great. Bees pollinate the flowers of many plants, including many food crops, to allow them to reproduce. Not only do bees contribute directly to food security, but they are key to conserving biodiversity - a cornerstone of the health of ecosystems. They also serve as sentinels for emergent environmental risks.
But these essential insects are increasingly under threat from human activities. Loss of habitats, land-use change such as mono-cropping practices, as well as invasive insects, pesticides and climate change pose threats to bees.
Please donate to the Australian Native Bee Association to help us conserve all Australian native bees and promote sustainable use. We will use the donation to provide resources, disseminate information, support members and communicate with stakeholders.
