Report of the Australian Native Bee Conference 2026

It was four years in the making, and from 30 July to 2 August the wait was finally over as our conference returned, this time in Cairns.

Come along to this meeting for a relaxed look back at the conference and some of its highlights. Organising committee member Tim Heard will take us through the full program — the presentations, field trips, trade exhibits, competitions and social events, as well as some of the memorable moments along the way.

Thanks to the photographic talents of David Anderson and James Dorey, the conference was very well documented, so there will be plenty to see as well as hear about.

If you were there, it’s a chance to relive some of the highlights. If you weren’t, this is your opportunity to enjoy the conference vicariously — without the airfare, the registration fee, or having to pack your pack a suitcase.

All are welcome to attend in person at Bulimba Community Centre, 1 Barramul St, Bulimba, Brisbane. Free for members, $5 for non-members.

ANBA members can attend online, a link to join will be sent by email approximately 1-2 days prior to the event.

Tim's talk will take  place from 2-3 pm, followed by a general meeting and refreshments for those attending in person.
