Australian Native Bees with James Dorey - live in Wollongong
Australia is home to about 1,700 named native bees. These bees are important pollinators of both natural and agricultural environments. They can also be incredibly varied in shape, size, colour, behaviour, and evolutionary history!
Come and hear from Dr James Dorey, author of 'Bees of Australia: A Photographic Exploration', award-winning macro photographer and lecturer in Biological Sciences at the University of Wollongong.
James will talk about his journey to becoming a lover of bees, which started in Brisbane, and share some surprising insights into the lives of native bees. Expect a bit of research and many stunning macro photos thrown in to boot!
This in-person event is supported by the Australian Native Bee Association (ANBA) Illawarra/Shoalhaven branch.
This talk is designed for adults and people 16 years+, bookings essential. For questions or further information contact southcoastnsw@anba.org.au.
