Hear the guest speaker Prof James Cook speaking on the topic:Supporting the health and expansion of the Australian Stingless Bee Industry”. This promises to be a very interesting session, as native bees continue to prove their worth as the pollinators of tomorrow. With funding from Hort Innovation and Agrifutures, Prof Cook leads a team of researchers from Western Sydney and other Universities exploring future possibilities of stingless bees and agriculture in Australia. The project will help to expand the native bee industry, and is mainly aimed at increasing crop pollination for our farmers by identifying which crops benefit most from stingless bee pollination, which species of bee are suitable for each area and how we can improve the impact of pollination by providing better conditions in the field.
