Western Sydney University and Griffith University in partnership with Hort Innovation and Agrifutures Australia are excited to extend to you an invitation to attend our upcoming workshop: Understanding the health and behaviour of managed stingless bees in agriculture.

During the workshop, we will have presentations from WSU researchers on:

  • Dr. James Makinson – Hive propagation and splitting methods
  • Dr. Rachele Wilson and Prof. Helen Wallace – Stingless bee crop loyalty in orchards with competing floral resources
  • Assoc. Prof. Robert Spooner-Hart – IPM and disease in stingless bees
  • Dr. Claire Allison – Stingless bee health and nutrition
  • Prof. James Cook - Emerging Industries Portfolio and crop selection

These presentations will be followed by round table discussions on these topics, with a view to gain insight from knowledgeable beekeepers, farmers and agronomists. This is a 5 year project, and we hope to focus this research on the needs of the industry.
