July meeting will be held at the El Arish Hall next Saturday (16th July) from 1 to 3pm.
Agenda:
1. Meet and greet/ afternoon tea
2.New Cairns branch update
3. Bee photos, bee ID and bee gardens
4. Hive relocation in house reno discussion and plan
5. Next meeting: host, date, location?
6. AGM date.
Can you identify bees in the garden and not in a hive? We are going to discuss how to determine species when you don't have a hive to help identify the bee you are looking at.
Also, what are the best bee friendly plants to use in a wet tropics garden? Would it be possible for the CCNBA to create a list of the best bee friendly garden plants?
I can't provide the answers to the above but I'm hoping that as a group we can answer these questions. To help our discussion, could you please provide some of your best bee photos to share at the meeting. The best photos will be ones where we can see species of bees that you have identified, visiting flowers that you know the names of.
Please email me a maximum of 4 of your photos.
Email your photos and intention to attend to: busylizzy.lang@gmail.com
Looking forward to catching up with everyone.
Kind Regards
CCNBA Sec/treas.
