Announcement of Annual General Meeting
Brisbane Branch of the Australian Native Bee Association
Dear Brisbane branch member,
"Note this event has been postponed from 25th October 1:30 - 3:30 PM until Sunday 8th November 1-3 pm.)
Our next meeting and AGM will be held at the THECA , 47 Fleming Rd, Chapel Hill. Following AGM business, members are invited to watch the monthly meeting of the Australian Native Bee Association from Sydney. It is titled "Bee conservation in action", walk and talk with Dan Smailes and Costa Georgiadis.
It has been a difficult year to run a community club, due to coronavirus restrictions and voluntary restrictions as well. We now find ourselves having to run the Annual General Meeting with some Covid-19 restrictions remaining. Following the guide for Business, Activities, and Undertakings (No. 7) we are allowed one person per 2 square metres at the THECA club. This is just 28 persons. According to our rules, people who cannot attend the AGM due to Covid-19 restrictions are allowed to represent a Proxy for voting purposes.
Main business at the AGM is to elect a new branch executive. The current members of the executive agree to be nominated for their current positions. But we would like to encourage new members onto the committee. Please email or phone Dean Haley or Ian Driver with your interest, we can communicate this information and bring it to the AGM. Find contact details on the website: https://australiannativebee.org.au/Branch-details
Our current committee members are:
- Dean Haley (Chairperson) (also acting as branch representative)
- Ian Driver (Secretary / Treasurer)
- Tim Heard (Events coordinator)
- Wayne Berry (Communications Officer)
- Peter Stone (Committee member)
Kind Regards,
Dean Haley and Ian Driver
